Abstract

The paper focus on application of the boundary element method (BEM) to ana- lyze pervious high pressure tunnels, using a novel design theory which couples a three-dimensional anisotropic potential model and a solid mechanic model. Nu- merical results are presented for the pervious high pressure tunnel of Guangzhou Pumped Storage Power Station (GPSPS), the largest pumped storage project in the world with 2400 MW installed capacity. 1 Introduction The concept of impervious and pervious material is relative for the complex phenomenon of ground seepage flow. In comparison with a weak rockmass, the concrete lining is relatively impervious; in
