Abstract

A wind measuring network around the Bay of Naples has been active for many years within a joint research programme run by the Parthenope University in Naples and the CUGRI (University Partnership for Research on Natural Hazards); a 10 year long record of wind data is thus available for a number of sites along the coast. Non-directional wave height data for a total duration of 61 months were also collected with a Datawell wave rider located near the eastern side of the bay; data thus available can provide useful information on local winds and the related sea state.
