Abstract

This paper presents a model of so called decision-support-environment on a methodological level for achieving more capabilities of software tools in supporting decision processes. The model is based on three inter-related ideas being developed; that complicated decision process could be simplified in respect to political, optimisation and simulation layer; that a tool would be better used as a means of handling a data source at each layer; and that tools integration could be seen as a process of information compression referenced by a layer and a data source. 1 Introduction In this paper, we present a model as a result of enriching the concept - decision support environment (DSE in short) - for achieving wider applicability of software tools in supporting decision process in water resources management (WRM in short).
