Abstract

Typical problems of groundwater flow were solved by means of analytical methods, the FEM, and the method of multiple cells. In the first case a confined aquifer with unsteady flow is examined and the simulated domain has the form of a square with a well in the center and impervious sides. Secondly a semi-confined leaky aquifer with steady flow is considered. For the above cases many numerical simulations were made and compared with analytical solutions. A close agreement between the three solutions was found. I. Introduction The water resources management is a crucial problem with increasing importance in the next years. A standard method to solve this kind of problems, is numerical analysis, which will be the subject of this paper. We wi
