Abstract

The machining of brittle glassy, ceramic and crystalline materials is assuming increasing importance in the manufacture of optics, opto-electronics and components for other areas of industry. A restricted range of ductile mode machining can be obtained with controlled cutting parameters (cut-depth and feedrate).
