Time Dependent BEM For Heat Conduction In
Non-homogeneous Media

Abstract
A BEM method for transient heat conduction in heterogeneous media is
presented, which builds upon the generalized boundary integral method
developed by Kassab and Divo[l]. Using the Laplace transform, the time
dependence is removed temporarily, and the governing equation is solved in the
Laplace domain, hence eliminating the need to march the solution in time.
Numerical results for variable conductivity are shown to be in excellent
agreement with analytical solutions.
