Multiple Submerged Fixed Cylindrical Cavities In
A Fluid Medium

Abstract
The Boundary Element Method (BEM) was used to evaluate the three-
dimensional wave field generated by two submerged fixed cylindrical cavities in
a fluid medium insonified by a point pressure source. Because of the cylindrical
geometry of this problem, we used the separation of variables and have
expressed the solution at each frequency in terms of waves with the varying
wavenumber k# (with z being the direction of the cylindrical cavity axis). We
subsequently Fourier-transformed these into the spatial domain. We cast this
wavenumber transform in discrete form by considering an infinite number of
virtual point sources evenly spaced along the z axis, and at a sufficient distance
from each other to avoid spatial contamination. In addit
