Numerical Properties Of Green Element Unsteady

Abstract
We study the numerical properties of the Green element method when applied to
unsteady transport problems. To this end, we consider some space time Green
element formulations and assess their convergence and stability characteristics.
Their overall performance in terms of convergence was found to be related to how
each scheme handles the characteristics of Fourier wave components in relation to
their theoretical values.
1 Introduction
Like the Boundary element method(BEM)^ , the Green element method(GEM)
replicates the governing differential equation into its integral form. For GEM
however, the integral equation must be satisfied on each generic element of the
problem domain.
In this work, we establish the numerical performance of three GEM
formulations.
