Temperature Conduction Across Double Brick

Abstract
The Boundary Element Method (BEM) is used to evaluate steady state heat
conduction across double brick walls separated by an insulation layer. The BEM
is formulated to allow the use of multi-boundaries, making it possible to
discretize the brick cavities.
The method and expressions described are first implemented and validated by
applying them to a simple one-dimensional conduction problem, for which the
solution is calculated analytically. The BEM is subsequently applied to two
different models: in the first, the wall is assumed to be a set of homogeneous
layers, bonded together; in the second, the geometrical properties of the
individual bricks and bonds are modelled. The temperature and distribution flow
results for the two models are compared, making it possible
