Abstract

Multimaterial joints under dynamic loading behaviour of the windscreen during a car crash: numerical determination of industrial tests J. Bonmi", F. Collombct", A. Dibome\ J.L. Lataillade" des /Ms ef Meiers, France INTRODUCTION During a car crash, the windscreen is submitted to dynamic loading : the kinetic energy due to the deceleration is released for a short time. The safety of passengers may depend on the behaviour in traction-compression of the adhesive joint between the windscreen and the steel-frame. It is therefore necessary to integrate the shock-resistance of windscreens to the design of cars. The industrial experiments remain purely technological : no test estimates the mechanical response of the joint versus time. The aim of this study is to define a new industrial test. We have chosen a numerical multi-scale method to examine the different steps of the behaviour of the constitutive materials. The overall
