Abstract
In this work we explain the philosophy of the project and the road tests made on a prototype of an electric bike during its normal use in an old and congested town as Milan. Our aim is to show how such a type of little vehicle could help urban designer to resolve some problems correlated with traffic and air pollution. 1 - Introduction An electric bike is not a new thing among the studies to design an urban vehicle. All the same, we dealt with the project with the purpose of built a very cheap machine using normal products of large diffusion. In fact some market analysis related that the potential buyers of such a vehicle are only a little segment of the whole bike's market, then some other sophisticated projects, which need big investments and equipment's, could be too expensive.
