A numerical model to calculate forces on submerged permeable breakwa-
ters is presented. A modified mild slope equation is used to evaluate the
kinematics of the flow inside and outside the structure. Velocities are the
input for Morison type equations, which are considered as an input for a
stability model.
1 Introduction
Submerged breakwaters have been constructed in coastal zones for shoreline
protection or to prevent beach erosion. A model describing wave transfor-
mation over submerged breakwaters is a fundamental tool in coastal design.
