Abstract

The study deals in detail with the digital simulation of non-stationary multivariate vector of seismic ground motions. The ground acceleration consists in an opportune discretization of a random field in different locations. The non- stationarity is considered uniformly modulated in time. The modulating functions accounts for the time-amplitude variation of the seismic acceleration. The digital simulation of the ground motion is performed by means of a new decomposition of the power spectral density matrix based on frequency dependent eigenproperties. Numerical examples show the capabilities of the technique. 1 Introduction In seismic engineering setting the earthquake accelerations have been always related to a stro
