Abstract
It has been well known that steel fibers are effective for an impact load because of the
increment of the ductility. However, quantitative evaluation of effect of a steel fiber for
impact failure of slab has not been adequately clear.
Authors achieved relatively slow impact tests of steel fiber reinforced concrete slab by the
repeats of a free fall of a weight for three kinds of fiber volume and three kinds of slab
thickness, as well as, static loading tests. Fundamental characteristics of the failure of fiber
reinforced concrete slabs, namely, failure types and the development of penetration up to
complete perforation were made clear basing on the
