Abstract
The subject of this paper is the experimental analysis of a fluid-structure coupled
system.
The experimental model consists of a steel box closed at one end by a rectangular
flexible steel panel.
The back wall of the box, opposing the flexible panel, is a hard steel piston
which can be moved along the axis of the cavity in order to vary its length and
therefore its resonance frequencies.
The structural excitation of the coupled system is provided by an electrodynamic
shaker.
Three microphones, located inside the cavity near the back rigid walls, measure
the acoustic pressure along three directions, while the acceleration of the flexible
plate is measured by an accelerometer applied near to its centre.
The force, pressure and acceleration signals are processed for the evaluation of
thep/F and a/F to determine both
