Viscoelastic Modelling Of Fibre-reinforced Resin Matrix Composites

Abstract
The study is devoted to viscoelastic modelling of fibre-reinforced resin matrix composites (FRRMCs), limited to epoxy and polyester resins. These materials are used as layers in polymeric laminates, m which only the first-rank creep of the resin matrix is admitted. A method for predicting viscoelastic properties of
an FRRMC is developed, based on Wilczynkis reinforcement theory, the HWKK rheological model of resins, complex compliances of the resin and the composite and elastic-viscoelastic analogy. Linear constitutive equations of viscoelasticity of an FRRM Care formulated and a computer-aided algorithm for deriving the elastic and viscoelastic constants of the homogenised FRRMC is developed. The method for viscoelastic modelling has been tested on a polyethylene/epoxy composite.
