Integrated railway operation system of East Japan Railway Company Akira Ryokawa", Yoshiyuki Oba", Humihiko Henda", Akihiro Kowada\ Tomoyuki Obikane^ & Osamu Maeyama^ "East Japan Railway Company, 1-6-5, Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 100, Japan Tabata, Kita-ku, Tokyo 114, Japan ABSTRACT East Japan Railway Company (JR-East) introduced "Integrated Railway Operation System (IROS)" in 1990, and has been introducing IROS into most the areas that JR-East covers. IROS supports jobs as for dealing with train service timetables and vehicle/crew schedulings. This system supports the following categories: (1) To support producing train service timetables and vehicle/crew schedules. (2) To distribute the information of train service timetables and vehicle/crew schedules to depots and stations, and also to other related computer systems.
