Abstract
Groundwater transport models are typically used to predict solute
concentrations in support of activities associated with assessment, clean-up,
and restoration of groundwater environments. Cost effectiveness and decision
making require that the uncertainty associated with predictions made by these
models must be accurately and precisely identified. This effort uses numerical
solutions of the one-dimensional solute transport equation to evaluate the effect
of the following input parameters on predicted solute concentrations: influent
concentration, pore velocity, dispersion coefficient, and retardation factor.
