Modelling Two Dimensional Turbulent Transport Of

Abstract
A two dimensional, vertical model for transport of solid particles under equilibrium and non-
equilibrium by turbulent flow is presented. The model contemplates three basic modules
which are solved iteratively: the hydrodynamic transport in terms of the conservation of mass
and momentum of the viscous fluid, the turbulent phenomena considering the validity of the
eddy viscosity and the transport of non cohesive solid particles taking in account the
conservation of mass and momentum of the mixture. The most important contributions of this
study comprise: the inclusion of these three phenomena by solving the coupled system
simultaneously; additionally, as the finite element method is used, it allows for quite good
