A High Accurate Monotone Numerical Scheme
For Multi-dimensional Transport Equation

Abstract
:
A new positive definite high accurate explicit finite difference numerical scheme is
proposed, to solve the advection dominated transport problem. The scheme has powerful
capability to simulate shocks and sharp gradient of initial distribution. The heart of the
scheme is to approximate the initial distribution function of concentration in a computational
cell using all ready computed zeroth, first and second moment of the function. It can be
classified as Godunov's type of schemes introduced by Van Leer [8], however in contrast with
those methods defined function in the cell is not a continuous one but it consists of blocks of
concentration whose dimensions are computed having the above mentioned moments. The
next step of the computation,similar to the methods introduced by Van Leer is the integration
of advection equation over a finite time
