Abstract
A cubic &-c and a linear single equation model were applied to a Mach 9
38° cooled ramp flow test case. The former was used with and without
compressibility correction, the latter without any such correction. Results
indicate that the single equation model performs much better than the cubic
k-e model in spite of the fact that the e equation has been treated to handle
adverse pressure gradient flows. It is concluded that in order to predict high
Mach number flows with confidence, it is best to avoid models involving the
c equation.
