ABSTRACT
A numerical study of ice crystal growth is presented. The ice crystal is as-
sumed to grow in either cylindrical or spherical shape. The models permit
a continuous determination of the phase change interface and the temper-
ature distribution. A finite difference approach is used to solve the model
equations. Numerical results are compared with available theoretical and
experimental data. The effect of the velocity, ice crystal base temperature
and biot number are considered for the determination of the growth rate
of the ice crystal.
